  • At what age can my child start tennis lessons?

    Your child can start tennis from as young as 3 years old. Lessons are aimed at developing Fundamental Motor Skills delivered in the ANZ Hot Shots Launch Pad program. At the younger age the sessions are usually 30 min in length.

  • What program is best for my child?

    Each child is different in their desire to play, ability and their engagement levels. For these reasons we have a number of different programs and time lengths to suit the individual.

  • How do you work out which is the most suitable group for my child?

    Group and Squad sessions are structured according to age and ability, where possible keeping the level and reason for playing, similar. Please be aware that this may mean brothers and sisters of different ages and abilities may have to come at slightly different times.

  • Does my child or myself need to be a Club Member to have lessons?

    No you don’t need to be a club member to have tennis lessons with High Performance Tennis. If you or your child would like to play competition tennis or use the courts, then you are required to become a member.

    Yearly membership rates are very cost effective and enable you to play all year round.Your High Performance Tennis coach can help you with this process

  • Where are the lessons held?

    High Performance Tennis operates out of ETKG Tennis Club located at the corner of East and South Terrace and Kensington Gardens.

  • What do I need to wear and bring along to coaching?

    Please wear cool and comfortable clothing, which allows you to move freely, tennis shoes or runners and bring your tennis racquet. In summer please remember a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.

  • Can I enrol after the term has started?

    Yes you can enrol after the term has started. Click here to complete contact form and a High Performance Tennis coach will call you to organise your session. Once your lesson time is confirmed you will be invoiced a pro rata rate for the remainder of the term.

  • Do I need to re-enroll each term?

    You will have the option to attain the same time and same day as last term. You can inform your High Performance Tennis coach you will be continuing before the end of the current term. If you require a change to session type, day or time, please speak with your High Performance Tennis coach and we will make every effort to accommodate you.

  • What happens if I miss a lesson or there is rain on the day of my lesson? What are my Make-Up options?

    High Performance Tennis makes up missed sessions due to rain and notified absence. We try and make up all lessons during the term or in the school holiday period. Click here Missed Class Policy to read all the related Make Up Policy.

  • When will my make-up lesson be held?

    Make-up lessons will be held during the remaining weeks of Term. In some cases make-up lessons may be scheduled during the school holiday period.

    If a lesson is cancelled by coaching staff due to weather, the coaching staff will contact you by text message. It is the responsibility of the student/parent to arrange the make-up lesson. Coaching staff will make every effort to meet your needs but cannot guarantee the provision of make-up lessons.

  • Can make-up lessons be carried over to the next term?

    No, make-up lessons must be completed within the current term.

  • Can I get a refund if I miss a Make-up lesson?

    No, your spot has been held for you for the term, coaching staff costs remain the same regardless of your attendance.

  • Can I get a refund if I don’t wish to participate for the remainder of the Term?

    No, High Performance Tennis does not issue refunds as your place has been reserved for you for the entire term, however, a credit may be issued for the next upcoming Term.

    Serious Illness/ Injury:
    If a student suffers serious illness or injury, High performance Tennis may credit the student with lessons in the following term (carry-over payment credit to next term).

  • What is my role as a Tennis Parent?

    The role of the parent in a child’s sport is an important one. High Performance Tennis has a lot of content to help you understand your role and guide you through the process.
